Bibit-bibit percintaan mereka bermula ketika penggambaran filem epik 'Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa' terbitan KRU Studios. Gavin Stenhouse memainkan watak Putera Roman sementara Nani pula bertugas sebagai pembantu pengarah lagak ngeri.

Nampak gayanya, Gavin benar-benar serius untuk mempelajari tentang agama Islam dan budaya Melayu apabila di kongsi Nani yang jejaka Scottish-Welsh itu belum lagi gagal berpuasa. Malah dia akan bersama Nani sekeluarga menyambut Hari Raya. Sudah ditempah pun sepasang baju Melayu.
